It’s been a while

Is it really spring?? It seems even though we haven’t had a bad winter, it sure has been a long one. Looking at a picture of flowers that naturally grow on these trees it brought a beautiful scripture to my thoughts.

Jesus said He is the Vine (the core, the trunk) of the branches (us) He states in John 15:4 that we can’t live if we are not connected to the vine (Himself). You see, the branches can’t grow out and blossom flowers if they are not getting life from the trunk which supplies all the nourishment needed to grow.

The flowers in the picture show how we “blossom” being connected to the vine (Jesus). Seldom do people look at a tree’s trunk when the branches have blossomed beautiful flowers and say, “look at that beautiful trunk” No, they first notice the beautiful leaves, flowers and fruits and admire their beauty.

We have a responsibility as branches that when people admire our beauty, which is Christ in us, we are to point them to Jesus who is the true life giver. The beautiful blossoming branches are a result of a life intertwined with the one true God that gives His life for ours.
